Kyiv intives to grand Petrykivka painting exhibition
‘Petrykivka Is a Spirit of Ukraine’
exhibition takes place in the Center of Ukrainian Art and Culture from January,
20 until February 10, 2015.
Six painters will bring their works to Kyiv,
Halyna Nazarenko, Olena Yarmolyuk, Iryna Kibets, Victoria Shevchenko, Tetiana
Garkava (Petrykivka village, Dnipropetrovsk oblast) and Natalia Malyarchuk
(Lviv).
Besides traditional Petrykivka paintings, the
artists decorated many buildings in different parts of Ukraine and even
Georgia. Halyna Nazarenko painted St. George’s Church in Kyiv and a chapel at
St. Panteleon springs (Khutyrske village) in cooperation with Olena Yarmolyuk.
In October 2014 Halyna and Iryna Kibets painted Pokrov Church in Shevchenkove
village, Kyiv oblast. Petrykivka recently appeared also on a college in Batumi,
Georgia.

Monzul from Kharkiv is the second best referee, FIFA
rating
Kateryna Monzul was ranked number two in
annual rating by International Federation of Football History & Statistics.
Having gained 58 points Kateryna, 33 y.o.,
just trailed German colleague gathering 116 points. The ‘bronze’ went to a
Canadian.
In 2014 Kateryna Monzul refereed at Women
World Cup in Canada and final match of Women Champion League. During her
international career started in 2004 Ukrainian refereed more than 60 matches.

The first eco taxi is running Lviv streets
One of Lviv taxi services has bought Nissan
Leaf electric car, a pilot project which intends to study the perspectives for
green vehicles in taxi services and possibility of green taxi service
initiation.
Konstantin Yevtushenko, one of the project
initiators, has told that if the project succeeded, the taxi service would
definitely buy several more green vehicles.
After one month test drive Lviv City
Administration could highly appreciate the advantages of green vehicles. At the
moment Lviv City Council is considering to buy six electric cars for its car
fleet.

Ivano-Frankivsk girl
becomes a face of French brand
Marysya Tomashevska from Ivano-Frankivsk, a
top model, writer and social activist, became a face of famous French organic
cosmetics Frederic M.
Marysya met Michel Leclerc, Frederic M
director, at ‘Mercedes-Benz Kyiv fashion days’ where the company was one of
international partners. Right there Michel offered her a job, ‘Michel Leclerc
is very nice and wise person. I am very thankful for making me a face of
Frederic M organic cosmetics. I like this cosmetics but also company management
as our views are very similar. We have discussed some mutual charity projects
to promote not just beauty but the development of Ukrainian youth’.

Andorra Ukrainian mountain
skiing week approaches
February 1-8, 2015 Ukrainians of Andorra will
meet their countrymen for Ukrainian Mountain Skiing Week.
The event agenda includes free Androrra la
Vella city tours, guided tours by ski trails, visit to Ukrainian miniature
museum in Andorra and iconography museum; free skiing training and business
meetings.
Ukrainian Mountain Skiing Week was launched
by Ukrainians permanently resided in Andorra. The event purpose is to support
Ukraine’s image in mountain skiing world. The initiative is realized with
assistance of Ukrainian diaspora and honored Ukrainian consul Antonio Zorzano.
