1008-pysankas panel
made by a pensioner from Mykolaiv
After being retired Volodymyr Bonk from Mykolaiv, former
driver, started training in pysanka (Easter egg) painting. It took the man over
8 years to collect 1008, sufficient enough to make a unique panel. Every pysanka differs
in ornaments, hardly one can find identical ones.
Volodymyr Bonk underwent no pysanka painting course.
Being a child he was just watching his mother painting eggs before Easter every
year.
To make the panel and save eggs from damage the master
strengthened holes with sequins and bound the eggs with fishing line.

Kyiv to create the atmosphere of world-known artist

Seen Kateryna Bilokur’s works, Pablo Picasso said, ‘If we
had had an artist of her scale, we would have made the entire world speak
about her!’ He compared her with Séraphine Louis.
The following initiatives will create ‘Kateryna Bilokur
Atmosphere’ in Kyv: All-Ukrainian painting contest among gifted children (7-14
y.o.), photo project featuring famous Ukrainian women in’ flower’ images;
fashion project (Ukrainian designers will present special collection devoted to
the artist), historical project (introduction to artist’s life and works) and
art project (installation made of over 30 000 flowers).
All the initiatives will be presented in ‘Atmosfera’ exhibition
center (Kyiv) on April, 22.
Analogue
of Harvard Kennedy school to work in Ukraine
Public Management School will be opened at Ukrainian
Catholic University. The School will prepare high skilled managers for central
and local government authorities. The
School target is both to improve professional knowledge and skills of the
current active government officials and duly prepare future specialists.
The School will be headed by Pavlo Sheremeta, the head of
Lviv Business School, former Minister of Economic Development and Trade of
Ukraine.
The School will work in three directions. In 2015 a
1,5-year Master of public administration (MPA) program will be launched. Short
and long term programs for government authorities will be also available. It is
planned to establish research and analytical centre as well.
The School was created on the model of the best world
schools such as Harvard Kennedy School, Fels Institute of Government and Yale
University after being adapted to Ukrainian context.
Chernivtsi
athlete bests at Chinese Marital Arts Tournament in San Francisco
Wushu master Victor Mihalchan topped at one of the
biggest and most prestigious competitions, Chineses Martial Arts tournament
‘Chinese Martial Arts Tournament 2015’, held in San Francisco.
He performed at four programs, won three golden medals
and one silver medal and bested at overall ranking. The tournament included
three disciplines: taolu (technics and styles ), tuī shǒu (pushing hands), duilian
(theatrical fight).
At the tournament Victor also represented PNMAA, his
Martial Arts Academy in USA. Two his students won golden and silver medals as
well.

Kyiv-Monte-Carlo
rally starts in June
June,3-10 Ukraine hosts a unique electric car marathon
Kyiv-Monte Carlo 2015.
The rally starts near Kyiv City Administration on June 3
at 7:00p.m. An exhibition of equipment (toys, bicycles, charging system and
etc.) powered by electricity and energy saving and alternative energy systems
to be showcased in Kyiv on this day.
It will be the forth electric car rally supported by
Albert II, Prince of Monaco, and mayors of the cities that participate in the
marathon.
