‘Swiss kozak’ club
to hold a festival dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine

Festival of Ukrainian Culture and Traditions will be held in
Switzerland, the event is dedicated to the Independence Day fo Ukraine.Dancing
groups, Ukrainian food, alcohol, ethnic clothes and accessories and handmade
(souvenirs, accessories, vyshyvanka) producers are welcome to join the
festival.

The festival agenda includes:

– Ukrainian clothes fashion show;

– Musical and Entertainment program;

– Fair;

– Auction;

– Charity Campaign for kids having lost breadwinner;

– Ukrainian food tasting.

The request for participation must be submitted until May, 16 to

The festival organizer is Ukrainian Club ‘Swiss Kozak’ supported by ‘Swiss
Kozak’ catering company.

A student from
Ternopil oblast created a unique Justin Timberlake’s portrait

Zinoviy Palahnyuk, 19 y.o. student from Ternopil oblast, created a
unique portrait of popular singer Justin Timberlake. The portrait required 24km
of treads, 13 000 nails and about 200 hours. The portrait dimensions are 3×2
meters.

‘I am Justin Timberlake’s fan. I wanted to make something special for
the birthday of his son. We sent him the video how the portrait was created. I
wonder what his feedback can be’, Zinoviy commented.

Ukraine to
present at International Book Fair in Prague

Thanks to Ukrainians resided in Czech Republic Ukraine will participate
in 21th International Book fair and Literary Festival Book World Prague to be
held in Prague on May, 14-17.

More than 10 Ukrainian delegates confirmed their participation, among
them: poetess and novelist Viktoria Andrusiv, kid’s writer Myrosvlava
Makarevych, novelist and poet Yuriy Andrukhovych, writer and Shevchenko Award
laureate Myroslav Dochynets, publishing houses from Lviv, Kharkiv, Uzhgorod
etc.

Ethnic clothes
of Donbass Oblast to be showcased in Kyiv

‘Cleopatra’ fashion theatre from Krasnoarmiysk (Donetsk Oblast) will
show ancient women ware of Sloboda Ukraine at Tourist Festival ‘Welcome to
Ukrainians’ planned for May 30-31, 2015, Kyiv.

The theatre is a part of youth social organization ‘Youth image center
Cleopatra’ whose aim is to help the youth to get into the world of art, beauty
and fashion. The sketches developed by young designers are very original and
impress with harmony between colors. The teenagers learn to draw, design
clothes, make up, do hair, walk and realize their ideas.

The head of the organization and theatre inspiration is Victoria
Dvoryanchykova.

‘Chestnut
piano’ fest to bring together pianists from different countries

May 13-17, Kyiv hosts III International ‘Chestnut Piano’ Music Festival
& Amateur Competition.

The festival purpose is to promote piano music, turn attention to
amateurs, encourage Ukrainian and foreign amateur pianists to develop both in
Ukraine and abroad.

The program includes amateur pianists’ competition (children and
adults), grand-amateurs’ competition (pianists who play masterly or have degree
in music) and contest among professional musicians.
