Colors of Ukrainian regions to show at Kyiv flower festival

The Carpathians with vineyards, steppe patterns of Tavria, multi-vector Galicia and unique land of Naddnipryanshchyna – ‘Colors of Ukraine’ flower festival dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine starts at Spivoche Pole (Pechersk Landscape park) on August 18.

200,000 flowers and various materials were used to make the compositions.

The festival works from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day until Sept. 11.

Ukraine brings its Sweets, Sugar and Chocolate to Hong Kong Exhibition

Representatives of three confectionery companies (‘Mulby Foods’, TM ‘Millennium’), ‘Biscuit-Chocolate’ and ‘Kriolit-Dnepr’ (TM ‘Klim’) and the National Sugar Association of Ukraine ‘Ukrtsukor’ will take part in HKTDC Food Expo to be held in Hong Kong on August 17-19.

Ukrainian Food national stand will present domestic confectionery products and serve as a platform to meet with potential traders and distributors of Asia as well as.

In 2016 the export of sugar and sweets from Ukraine to Hong Kong grew significantly in comparison with 2015. The sugar export increased almost 38 times; chocolate export to Hong Kong brought Ukraine $112,000 last year (2.8 times more than in 2015) .

200 years passed and Kyiv’s legendary jam comes back

Two centuries passed and the recipe of legendary sweet souvenir ‘Kyiv dried jam’, also called as ‘dried candies’ or ‘balabushky’, that was the highlight of Kyiv in the 19th century, has been revealed. In addition the jam was in great demand far beyond the capital of Ukraine and the country itself.

The recipe of candied fruits and vegetables was restored from the book dated of 1861.

The jam is made from fruits, vegetables and berries a generous Ukrainian land is rich in such as beet, carrot, rhubarb, cherry and lemon shell.
‘Kyiv dried jam’ can be as a good souvenir as Kyiv cake.

2017 ‘Ukrainian Days’ in Chicago – bigger and better

August 26-27, Chicago invites to ‘Ukrainian Days’ to celebrate Ukraine’s Independence Day.
