Ukrainian scientists developed bandages on the basis of radiation crosslinked hydrogels
Scientists from Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in cooperation with experts of macromolecular compounds department of Taras Shevchenko University and PJSC SIC ‘Borshchahivskiy CPP’ pharmaceutical plant developed bandages on the basis of radiation crosslinked hydrogels.
Due to 90-95 percent of water the hydrogel can immediately cool the wound, prevent tissues fracture process (also when burnt) and clean a wound. A mix of components allows adding various medicines both in hydrogel and outside part of a bandage.
The bandages leak water, liquid medicines, painkillers, blood-stopping and antiseptic drugs and other liquids. They don’t stick to wounds making removing process painless. They are hermetically sealed and allow preventing traumatopneic wound as well.
