Ukraine-born Viktor Skrypnyk is the best Bundesliga coach

On Transfermarkt portal version Viktor Skrypnyk, coach of FC ‘Werder’ (Bremen, Germany) was recognized as the best coach of Bundesliga.

Being trained by a 45 y.o. Ukrainian coach the team played 25 matches, got 11 victories, 6 draws and 8 defeats.

‘Werder’ finished this season on 9th place (when Viktor Skrypnyk came the team was in relegation zone).

Winners of ‘Territory of Dignity’ International Open Contest are known

An architect from Taiwan bested in nomination I ‘Public space of Maidan and Kyiv city core’ of ‘Territory of Dignity’ International Open Contest. The project idea is to green up Kyiv center and re-arrange traffic in Khreshchatyk (to reduce the number of traffic lanes).

Italian project won in nomination II ‘Commemorating the Revolution of Dignity and memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes’. The project targets to turn Instytutska Street into a park planted with red maples.

The project by Kyiv architects topped in nomination III ‘International cultural center ‘Ukrainian House on European Square’.

5th Alfa Jazz Festival in Lviv is coming

5th Alfa Jazz Festival, large-scale international jazz event, takes place in Lviv on June 25–29, 2015.

Musicians will play on three main stages: Eddie Rosner Stage, Rynok Square and Potocki Stage.

Jazzmen from Cuba, USA, Japan, Ukraine, UK, Germany, Austria, Poland, France, Sweden and other countries will play at the festival.

Among the festival highlights are Herbie Hancock, awardee of 14 Grammies; Wayne Shorter, a legendary musician and the greatest jazz composer; George Benson, American guitar player and vocalist (10 Grammy awards); Mike Stern, Paquito D`Rivera from Cuba, Hiromi, Japanese piano player and others famous jazz musicians.

British Council is launching English language course for Ukrainian former militaries

British Council under support of NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine starts admission for intensive English language course for former militaries – career military men retired from Ukrainian Army during the last three years, or plan to get retired in 2015-2016.

The courses will be organized in Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv and Chernivtsi. The study course is going to start in the end of August or in the beginning of September.

Poetess from Volyn Oblast among laureates of international contest

Poetess from Volyn Oblast Svitlana Kostyuk became a laureate of International Contest ‘Between the word and eternity’ held in Naples.

Svitlana is the only Ukraine’s delegate entered TOP-5 contest winners.

The contest embraced poetry in English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Svitlana’s poetry was translated into English by Yuriy Lazirko from New York.

In total 452 poets from different countries participated in the contest.
