TV version of ‘Okean Elzy’ concert got Silver Screen
award in USA

TV
version of ‘Okean Elzy’ concert, held in Lviv on August 24, 2014, got Silver
Screen Award at US International Film & Video Festival.

US
International Film & Video Festival (founded in 1967) is one of the leading
international events to award the best in documentary, TV series and entertaining
programs.

The
concert highlight is collective singing of the national anthem of Ukraine by
musicians and 40 000 audience.

In
total 1000 applications from 34 countries were submitted to the festival.

Third National Floristic Festival ‘Sun
City’ is coming to Kyiv

Third
National Floristic Festival ‘Sun City’ takes
place at Spivoche Pole (Kyiv) on July, 3-18. The festival will get together
architects, decorators, florists and artists.

The
event aims to promote ecoculture, to demonstrate extraordinary landscape design
ideas and determine new design tendencies.

The
festival admission fee is UAH 30. Entrance for pensioners, kids under 7 y.o.,
the disabled, and liquidators of Chernobyl
disaster and veterans is free. The festival works from 9:00 to 21:00.

Canadian SOCODEVI to invest in dairy industry
development in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

In
the framework of ‘Eurocarpathian Initiative’ project implementation diary
industry will be developed in Prykarpattya. The memorandum on cooperation was
signed by Ivano-Frankivsk regional authorities and Canadian non-government
organization SOCODEVI. The project will be realized in Dolynskiy, Kaluskiy and
Rohatynskiy districts. The document implies diary companies establishment
consulting, providing necessary equipment, milk quality control devices, fodder
conservation equipment, and grazing accommodating.

In
future milk will be delivered to milk processors which will be launched shortly
due to the foreign investments.

The
project will be based in involvement of 76 family farms located in
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Currently all Prykarpattya farms count more than 104
000 cows. The overall milk production volume in the region is 500 000 tons, 94%
of which are produced on private farms.

Unique Ukrainian Tomotherapy Center opens in
Kirovohrad

Ukrainian
Tomotherapy Center (UTC) opened in Kirovohrad. The center specializes in cancer
prevention, early diagnostic and treatment. The center opened due to
cooperation of Kirovohrad Oblast and Slovak company ‘DSM Holding’ (foreigners
contributed above $250 million). Such companies as “Accuray” (USA), “Elekta” (Sweden) and “Toshiba” (Japan)
supported the project.

The
Center consists of radiodiagnosis department (computerized tomography scanner
“Aquilion”, MPT “Vantage TITAN 1,5T” and Ultra Sound Device

with elastography function), treatment department (two ultra-modern linear
accelerators), consultative department (it will be supervised by the best
oncologists of German and Polish Clinics) and chemotherapy department (day
patient facility).

The
Center capacity is about 200 patients a year. It employs more than 30 people:
doctors, nurses, medical engineers (its work is being coordinated by experts
from more than 10 countries: Germany,
Poland, UK, Sweden,
Georgia, Spain, Russia
etc). The Center will treat both kids and adults. Every year more than 50
patients from Kirovohrad Oblast will get free cancer treatment in center. The
Center has already provides free diagnostic for kids in order to detect
oncopathology at early stages. Free kids’ treatment is planned from 2016.

UCT
is equipped with modern and comfort wards.

In
2016 it is planned to launch educational center for doctors and medical
physics.

Ukrainian Sunday School to open in Arlon, Belgium

Ukrainian
Sunday School has been started in Arlon,
Belgium. According
to the schoolmaster Sofia Balych, the school aims to teach Ukrainian language,
culture and traditions.

The
Head of Mission of Ukraine to the NATO Yevhen Bozhok mentioned that Ukraine
will support the school, mainly, by providing books and other study materials.

The
school will open its doors for the first pupils on September, 12.
