Lviv as winter weekend break destination – British journalists recommend

The British Independent journalists visited Lviv. The city impressed them so much that they recommend tourists to go there for the winter weekend break.

In particular, the British focused on laidback cafes, chocolate shops, fairytale architecture, a large number of art galleries, monuments, museums, cathedrals and wine restaurants.

The attention was also paid to the rich cultural life because the city annually hosts more than 100 festivals.

VoleeYu brand showroom opens in Beijing

VoleeYu showroom, Ukrainian brand of women’s clothing and accessories, opened in the ‘Ukrainian House’ in Beijing.

The brand was presented by Yulia Katsianova, VoleeYu Fashion House designer and owner.

Several collections, in particular, ‘Baroque Petrykivka’, ‘New Look at the Orient’ and ‘Elegance of France’ were presented on the opening day.

Ukrainian Christmas carols at Trafalgar Square

Dec. 17, Ukrainian Christmas carols can be heard at Trafalgar Square New Year tree. The concert is free however everyone will be able to make a donation.

As Facebook-page of the charity organization British-Ukrainian Aid informs all charity donations raised during the concert will be handed over in support of internally displaced children from Donbas.

The concert starts at 5 p.m.

An exhibition of Maria Prymachenko’s works opens at Kyiv art center

Nov. 21, M17 Contemporary Art Center (Kyiv) an exhibition of works of Maria Prymachenko, one of the most famous Ukrainian folk artists. The exposition is called ‘The Marvelous World of Maria Prymachenko’.

The visitors will be able to see a few dozen private collections rarely demonstrated to the general public.

The exposition runs until Dec. 3.

The entrance on the opening day is free.

Made in Ukraine: periodontal disease treatment chewing gum

Marta Tsap, an Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University student, presented a chewing gum based on bactericidal and antiseptic properties of honey to prevent oral cavity diseases. The product is a great way to treat and prevent periodontal disease.

The chewing gum is based on caramelized honey, its effect was tested by the university dentistry faculty experts. The periodontium state of 6 out of 9 volunteers using the chewing gum for a month has improved.

In addition to honey, the gum contains wax, propolis and other beekeeping products.

As Marta says, the chewing gum is ready for serial production launch. The honey gum production start requires Hr 209,000. The project will pay off in 2 years.
