Americans to fair
in a Ukrainian style
August,8 Sacramento becomes a venue for Ukrainian Fair ‘Together for
Peace’, an event organized by Ukraine Relief in effort to unite people,
businesses, and organizations from around the world to provide support for
Ukraine in time of war.
This fair aims to introduce Ukrainian diverse customs and traditions to
American and Slavic communities.
Ukraine Fair is designed to educate people on Ukrainian culture, connect
everyone to join in support and prayer for peace in Ukraine.
The event will include live entertainment, games, contests, and
activities for children and adults of all ages.

Ukrainian wins
Miss Deaf World 2015
Natalia Belan from Zaporizhzhia wins ‘Miss & Mister Deaf World &
Europe-2015’ contest held in Prague.
The 1st Runner-Up title went to a girl from Belarus,
a representative of Taiwan
became the 2nd Runner-Up.
In total 60 hearing impaired girls from different countries of the world
participated in the final stage of Miss Deaf World 2015.

Kyiv is inviting
to Japanese weekend
Pushkin Park (Kyiv) hosts
the Week of Japan under Slava Frolova’s Art Picnic on September, 5-9.
The agenda includes:
– Japanese language lessons for beginners;
– food workshop (cooking mocha (rice balls) on ancient recipe);
– sports trainings (karate, aikido, kendo, kyudo (archery);
– lectures, movies, traditional dances;
– exhibition of photos and Japanese calligraphy;
– games and workshops on origami, ikebana, shyakuhachi (Japanese bamboo
flute) and other arts;
– Japanese goods fair and celebration of Japanese holiday Bon.
The event is initiated by Ukrainian-Japanese
Center under Kyiv Polytechnic
University.

Kherson State University
has been certified by EU as social research and educational institution.
Now Kherson
University is the only
university in Kherson Oblast owing this official status and eligible for
HORIZON 2020 and ERASMUS MUNDUS projects.
HORIZON 2020 is a EU framework program to support and foster innovative
researches. The total budget of HORIZON 2020 is EUR 80 billion.
ERASMUS MUNDUS is an international educational program for cooperation
and mobility in high education sphere initiated and financed by European
Commission. The program main target is to improve quality of European high
education, promote intercultural common ground through cooperation between
non-EU countries.

‘Flowers-Talismans’
exposition to start at Spivoche Pole in Kyiv
Before the Day of Independence of Ukraine, August 21, the 60th jubilee
exhibition ‘Flowers-Talisman’ will be opened at Spivoche Pole, Kyiv. The
exposition will be dedicated to Ukrainian flowers and its sacral code.
Each composition will present a separate flower: poppy, lily or
chamomile.
The center of flower composition will be decorated with a special
construction to symbolize special traits of Ukrainian life, culture and
character: poppy, symbol of family and happiness, will appear in two figures of
swans. Hollyhock, symbol of nation’s spirituality and its immortality, will
underline the bond of several generations. The composition ‘field bells’,
symbol of joy and happiness, will be presented in nightingales, the most warble
Ukrainian bird.
The exhibition will last until September, 20.
