Ukrainians in Madrid
to march for Ukraine
September,
11-13 the Annual General Meeting of Ukrainian World Congress is held in Madrid.
The
event agenda:
– summarizing
the congress activity in 2014-2015;
–
drafting a strategy on counteracting Russian disinformation and strengthening
the UWC worldwide network;
–
organizing a march and rally under the motto ‘Ukrainians throughout the world
together with Ukraine’;
–
honoring individuals who have made a significant contribution to the
popularization of the cultural legacy and worldwide commemoration of Taras
Shevchenko with the UWC award ‘200 years since Taras Shevchenko’s birth’.

Four medals at International biology Olympiad went to
Ukrainian pupils
Ivan
Blashchak from Ternopil, Kateryna Zabava, Arseniy Hordeychyk and Tetiana Husak
from Kyiv secured one silver and three bronze medals at 26th International
Biology Olympiad, held in Denmark on July,12-19.
The
Olympiad consisted of practical tour (test on Anatomy, Biosystematics and
Plants Evolution; Molecular Biology and Microbiology; Animals Functional
Morphology; Biochemestry) and theoretical tour (two tests on Biology, mainly,
Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Genetics).
In
total 239 talented pupils from 63 countries participated in the Olympiad.

Ukrainian
street art-fest: culture and charity mix
August,
15-16 a
charity festival ‘Ukrainian Street Art Festival’ will be held at Kontraktova
Ploshcha, Kyiv. The festival will present Street music, Street dance, Street
fashion, Street art, Street market, Street fire show.
The
festival purpose is to promote street-art culture in Ukraine and raise money to benefit
wounded ATO-zone soldiers.
The
festival is initiated and organized by volunteers of ‘Support Our Soldiers’
project (tour of Ukrainian musicians to ATO-zone).
No
admission fee is required. All donations will be collected in special boxes
located all over the festival area.

Welcome to borshch quest-fest in Opishnia
August,
15 the Second All-Ukrainian gastronomic festival-quest ‘Borshchik In A Clay
Pot’ takes place at EthnoEcoAgroSadyba ‘Lialyna Svitlytsia’, Opishnia, Poltava Oblast.
Three
delegates from different Ukrainian oblasts will cook nine types of borshch in
clay pots: with ribs, pears, strawberries, pork, fish, ‘granny borshchik’. The
festival highlight will be a special borshch with secret ingredient.
The
festival organizer is Olena Shcherban, who has been collecting ancient recipes
of Poltava
dishes, mainly borsch, for many years already.

Ukraine on foot for 93 days
Having
crossed Ukraine walking from
the border with Russia to Slovakia,
Anastasia Yevsyukova and Olha Soloviova from Dnipropetrovsk finished a project
‘Inside Of Living’.
Two
girls overcame 2000km in 93 days.
According
to Anastasia three guys joined them at the last stage; overall 10 people from
different Ukrainian regions accompanied the trip.
In
August the girls plan to present photo exhibition based on their journey and
show many incredible Ukrainian places which definitely worth seeing. ‘Opishnia,
Poltava oblast,
became a pleasant surprise for us. Ukraine has plenty of unique places
and good people. All over Ukraine
people are same kind and hospitable. We were welcomed everywhere, offered help
and food’.
