‘Glow art’ embroidery presented in Jerusalem
Tetiana
Protcheva (the founder of the first Kyiv vyshyvanka museum) presented unusual
embroideries (mix of traditional Ukrainian embroidery and ‘glow art’ that shine
in darkness) at 40th Jerusalem International Arts and Crafts Fair.
The woman
showcased shining portraits of Golda Meir, Lesya Ukrainka, Steve Jobs, Olive
Tree, purses, cell phones and keys accessories, jewelries, ties, bows,
Ukrainian rushnyk.
This is the
first time Ukraine took part
in the exhibition in Jerusalem.

Volodymyr Klychko to defend his title in Düsseldorf
October 24,
the heavyweight World Champion, holding the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and The Ring
heavyweight titles, Volodymyr Klychko will defend his title in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Ukrainian
boxer will face British guy Tyson Fury.
It will be the
68th fight in Volodymyr’s professional career and 24th fight in the career of
Fury (the British boxer has lost no fight before).

Assembly of European regions opened the office in Dnipropetrovsk
The only in
Ukraine Office of the Assembly of European Regions (AER) was opened in
Dnipropetrovsk. Hande ÖZSAN BOZATLI, AER President, attended the inauguration
ceremony. Vyacheslav Berezhniy, former employee of local government and AER
adviser, became the head of the office.
September
11-12, AER office in Dnipropetrovsk will become a venue for a round table
discussion on devolution of power. September 17-18, the office will arrange a
round table discussion on Small and Medium Enterprise development.
In October the
AER Secretary General is going to pay visit to Dnipropetrovsk and hold a
meeting on election transparency.
The Assembly
of European Regions is a European interstate organization which deals with
regional democracy, promotes regions political influence in European political
institutions, supports regions at the process globalization and Europe scale-up.

Excel artworks presented at Microsoft Berlin office
Artworks
exhibition ‘Excel Art. Calculating Art’ created by Oleksiy Say in Microsoft
Excel program opened in Microsoft Berlin Office.
By some
manipulations Oleksiy turns Excel charts into artworks. His art is ‘a
transformation of daily life digital symbolism into subtraction esthetics’.
Giving the
office for the exposition Microsoft Company wants to motivate other artists to
make experiments in virtual reality.
The exhibition
runs until Sept. 18.

Four medals of the International Chemistry Olympiad went to Ukrainian
pupils
Ukrainian team
secured four silver medals at the 47th International Chemistry Olympiad held in
Baku. This
result allowed Ukrainian team to enter TOP-20 strongest countries-participants.
Ukrainian team
was represented by bothers Mykhailo and Mykola Pashko (graduates of Kyiv Lyceum
‘Podil’), Andriy Malashchuk (graduate of Gymnasium No. 46, Kharkiv) and Oleksiy
Zhelavskiy (graduate of Kharkiv School No.36).

participants from 75 countries took part in the Olympiad. The participants
awarded 35 golden, 63 silver and 92 bronze medals.
