“Sincere. Holidays” photo exhibition to open in Kyiv

Folk costumes of the 19th century, photos of Ukrainian celebrities dressed in the national costumes, workshops on holiday attributes, performances by Nina Matvienko, Dakh Daughters and USO bands – Nov. 14 a photo exhibition “Sincere. Holidays” will be unveiled at the National Center for Folk Culture Ivan Honchar Museum.

The visitors will see 12 photos of Ukrainian famous people featuring 12 festive costumes dressed in different regions of Ukraine one century ago. The exhibition will run until Dec. 2.

Lviv brewpub enters TOP-10 European best breweries

Pravda Beer Theater in Lviv entered TOP-10 of the best brewery tap rooms in Europe. The rating was compiled on tips of the British edition The Guardian readers.

“You can usually see the bottling line in operation, and with the same very cheap prices to drink in or take away beer, this is a great spot to enjoy Lviv’s Renaissance architecture”, the publication says.

The rating also includes breweries in Barcelona, Edinburgh, London, Bristol, Cheshire, Utrecht, Bruges, Prague and Bavaria.

Kyiv Drama Theater in Podil to compete for an international award

The restored building of Kyiv Drama Theatre located in Podil is nominated for the 2019 Mies van der Rohe Award, the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture.

The information was published on Facebook-page of Drozdov & Partners bureau, the building project author.
Mies van der Rohe Award is granted every two years. The purpose of the award is to acknowledge and reward architecture production, including concepts and constructions.

Ukrainian folk art was shown in Ashgabat

The Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan hosted an exhibition of works of Ukrainian folk arts and crafts. The visitors could to see author’s dolls, towels, embroidered clothes, tablecloths, items decorated in Petrykivka painting.

More than 120 tons of fruits to be used at Kyiv citrus festival

Dec. 21, Kyiv to host Ukraine’s first “Citrus Festival”.

Oranges and lemons will be used to build houses of Harry Potter, Rapunzel, Aladin, Robin Hood, Count Dracula and other fairy-tale and mythical characters. The height of each building will reach 3-5 m. Over 120 tons of fruit will be spent on creating locations.
