Kyiv student gets ‘Miss Ukraine-2015’ crown
18-year-old Khrystyna
Stoloka from Kyiv got the crown of ‘Miss Ukraine-2015’. The girl is a
second-year student of the National University of Food Technologies, enjoys
drawing and dancing. The title of 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up went to girls
from Ternopil and Zhytomtr respectively.
The victory enabled
Khrystyna to represent Ukraine at ‘Miss Universe’ contest to take place in
Colombia.
The beauty contest
was attended by 25 girls from different regions of Ukraine.

‘Allset’ lunch reservation service launched in USA
‘Settle’ team
launched ‘Allset’ mob application, table reservation and lunch pre-ordering
service. At the moment the application is available for 12 restaurants in San
Francisco and Palo Alto: Arte Ristorante, Atlas Tap Room, Birba, Boulevard,
Farmhouse Kitchen, Il Casaro, La Mar, Les Clos, Mochica, Prospect, The
Lunchpad, The Monk’s Kettle.
‘Our hallmark is that
we combine table reservation service and food pre-ordering service. We are
focused on lunches and address this application to busy people who don’t like
to have lunch in office but cannot wait too long at the restaurants’, Stas
Matvienko, ‘Settle’ founder, comments.
The application developers
plan to get $2 from each order: a dollar from restaurant and user.

Germany sent expensive equipment to Ivano-Frankivsk University
Ivano-Frankivsk
National Medical University received catheters, stents, stentgrafts and other
materials valued at UAH 500,000 from University Clinics of Bonn, Aachen, and
Dusseldorf. This equipment will allow performing the most advanced surgeries on
aorta and main arteries.The German gift was passed to Vascular Surgery
Department of Regional Clinical Hospital.
‘University Clinics
of Bonn, Aachen and Dusseldorf help us with supplies for endovascular surgeries
and provides our staff an opportunity of internship to study the most advanced
medical technics’, Ivan Hutz, the head of general Surgery Department,
commented.

Jump-in – Lutsk style of cycle rickshaw
22 years-old Mykola
Volyanyk from Lutsk designed the first in the city bike taxi.
He had been developing
the taxi for the last two years and studied designs of the popular Asian cycle
rickshaw. However, he noticed some disadvantages and decided to make his own
bike taxi. Mykola’s father, who is a metalsmith, helped him to create three
taxis.
A frame, a cabin,
brakes, shock-absorbers, a special device to run all systems – all these make a
comfortable carriage. The production cost for each bike taxi is $3,000
(manpower is not included). Mykola plans to equip his taxis with
GPS-navigators, install solar-powered electric engine and provide an option to
order taxi through Internet. A bike taxi is designed for two adults (up to
240kg), or two adults and one child for city ride.
As for the price
Mykola is confident that this transport will be affordable both for locals and
city guests, ‘When we operate on a regular basis we will charge 15 Hr. start
fee and 5 Hr. each kilometer’.
At the moment Mykola
is looking for investors who would support his idea to create bike taxi network
and help financially to improve this transport. They have already had a brand
name – ‘Jump-In’.

October 14-20, a
traditional Ukrainian Fashion Week SS16 is held in Mysteskiy Arsenal, Kyiv. More
than 50 designers will present spring-summer 2016 collection in the format of
fashion shows, installations and presentations.
The face of Ukrainian
Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2016 became Victoria Sasonkina who lives in New
York. At the age of 17 the girl signed a contract with model agency Major
Management, Paris. In 2008 world famous fashion photographer Steven Meisel
called her ‘his muse’. In 2010 Ukrainian model Victoria Sasonkina was featured
in TOP-20 best world models.
