Passengers of ‘Boryspil’ airport are invited to ‘Gallery of national
pride’
November 17, 2015 the
international airport ‘Boryspil’ solemnly launched a unique cultural project
called ‘Gallery of national pride’ whose main idea is to promote Ukrainian
culture. So, the passengers of the main Ukrainian airport have an opportunity
to see the best works of Ukrainian artists, photographers, sculptors and
patrons.
The gallery started
working with an exhibition of paintings by Maria Prymachenko, famous Ukrainian
artist, winner of Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, and one of the
most honorable artists of the 20th century.
The exhibition exposes
44 original works of Maria Prymachenko, each of them is signed and accompanied
with the author’s poems.
The paintings will be
available for the next two months, after that they will be replaced by other
works of Ukrainian artists, photographers or sculptors.
11-years-old boy wins young violinist contest in Poland
Bohdan Luts,
11-years-old pupil of S.Krushelnytska Lviv Musical School, won III
International contest of young violinists ‘I’ll be a virtuoso’ held on
November, 5-8 in Krakow, Poland.
More than 50 young
violinists competed on interpretation of etudes and scales.
Besides the first prize
Bohdan was also given ‘The Best Performing of Scale’ and ‘The Best Performing
of Henryk Wieniawski’ Awards.
Bohdan has already got
some awards at international junior contests (Slovakia, Czech Republic,
Poland), Grand Prix of Kyiv international competition ‘Classical Meridian’;
delivered concerts in Ukraine and Switzerland as well.

Ivano-Frankivsk student awarded ‘Young innovator 2015’ in Berlin
Oleksandr Shymanko, 18,
Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University student, won audience choice
award and a title ‘Yong Innovator 2015’ at Internation science laboratory
Falling Walls Lab Berlin held in Berlin, Germany.
This young guy
presented ‘a smart pillow’ Pi Pillow, a gadget to improve sleep and monitor
vital signs during a sleep. The pillow is controlled by Android та iOS and used
as a multipurpose device – sleep monitoring and a device allowing sleeping
faster and deeper. Oleksandr developed the pillow with a team of 10 associates.

Ukraine gets two prizes at Minsk International Film Festival
‘The Living Fire’ by
Ostap Kostyuk and ‘The Event’ by Serhiy Loznitsa won two awards at 22th
International Minsk Film Festival ‘Listapad ‘held in the capital of Belarus on
November 6-13, 2015.
‘The Living Fire’ was
given ‘The Diploma for believing in preservation of authentic national culture
in the process of globalization’ and ‘The Event’ received ‘Special jury’s prize
for high artistic statement of events of August 1991 and new interpretation of
the archives filmed by Leningrad cinematographers’.
It is worth mentioning
that this year the International jury of cinematography press was headed by
Ukrainian Serhiy Trymbach (the Head of the Ukrainian Union of
Cinematographers).
‘Brothers’ by Polish
director Wojciech Staroń bested at ‘Documentary Competition’, and ‘The Lesson’
by Petar Valchanov and Kristina Grozeva form Bulgaria was the best in ‘Main
Feature Film Competition’.

From amateur dance group to Xinjiang Grand Theatre
She used to dance in
amateur dance group ‘Svitanok’ (Studinky village, Ivano-Frankivsk) but now she
is a part of Xinjiang Grand Theatre in Chángzhì (China).
Nina Afanasieva,20, was
born in Studinky village (Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast). For the last year the girl
has been living in China where she is performing as a dancer. After successful
casting she was invited to Xinjiang Grand Theatre.
The girl started her
dancing career at amateur dancing group ‘Svitanok’, ‘After finishing school I
was hesitating where to enter: Musical College or Dancing College. So, I
decided to follow family tradition and entered Dnipropetrovsk College of Art
and Culture, Choreography and Folk Dance department’. With a dancing group
‘Horytsvit’ she took part in various contests and festivals.
After graduating the
young dancer understood the diploma was not everything, so she preferred
getting valuable professional experience instead of continuing study.
Last summer Nina
decided to realize her dream and she was casted to Xinjiang Grand Theatre.
