To support Ukrainian ATO soldiers by suspending pizza

Suspended Pizza at ‘Pizza Veterano’ is a pre-paid pizza for someone in need. ‘Pizza Veterano’ was opened in Kyiv by ATO veterans, Rafael and Leonid Ostaltsev.

The Suspended Pizzas are ordered for:

– volunteers center at the Kyiv train station (where soldiers wait for a train and can have some rest);

– military hospital;

– ATO soldiers who attend the restaurant.

The restaurant is located at Metrohrad shopping mall, quarter 13, café KAIZEN.

Ukrainian cardiac surgeon are successful in ‘Tirone David 1’

Ukrainian cardiac surgeons debuted in performing two unique operations to remove an aneurysm of the ascending aorta (so-called Tirone David 1). The procedure conducted at Kyiv Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine was participated by a leading American cardiac surgeon Dr.Alan Stewart. Both operations were done successfully. For conducting free сomplex surgeries Dr.Stewart brought cardiac prostheses with himself.

‘The main task for us now is to train skills and conduct 2-3 joint surgeries with Prof. Stewart. We have agreed about it’, Borys Todurov, Director of Kyiv Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, says.

At present time only 2-3 clinics in Europe can conduct the similar operations. After the successful debut the ranks were joined by Kyiv Heart Institute.

A girl from Donetsk makes unique Christmas decorations with embroidery

One year ago Yulia Dotsenko, resident of Donetsk, initiated an art project ‘Dress your Christmas tree with vyshyvanka’. She started making Christmas toys decorated with Ukrainian traditional embroideries.

‘I want these toys to bring some warmth and love to Ukrainians’, Yulia says.

All Christmas ornaments were specially developed by designers and artists in accordance with the ancient traditions of Ukrainian embroidery, its classical symbolism and meaning.

Ivan Marchuk is among 100 Living Genius, Daily Telegraph

George Soros, Nelson Mandela, Steven Spielberg, Dalai Lama, Muhammad Ali, Bill Gates, Plácido Domingo, Paul McCartney, Steve Wozniak – they are all included into TOP 100 Living Genius listed by newspaper Daily Telegraph. The list also features an artist and the founder of a new art technique ‘pliontanism’ Ivan Marchuk born in Ternopil oblat (the only representative of Ukraine).

Ivan Marchuk was born in Moskalivka village (Ternopil oblast). The painter started drawing when he was a kid, a little boy created his first drawing on the pieces of paper secretly taken from his father’s bag.

He studied at Lviv Applied Art University, Ornamental Painting Department. The painter researched the world’s art movements, used to make experiments and invented his own style called ‘pliontanism’ (from dialectal Ukrainian pliontaty that means to knit, intertwine: his paintings look like as knitted from threads).

Koreans can also read ‘The War That Changed Rondo’

Sanha Publishing House published ‘The War That Changed Rondo’ in Korean (originally published by ‘Vydavnytstvo Staroho Leva’). This is the third book of this publishing house published in Korea.

The first two books ‘Who Will Make the Snow’ by Taras and Mariana Prokhasko and ‘Stars and Poppy Seeds’ by art studio Agrafka have been published in Korean by BookNBean Publisher Publishing House.

It is worth mentioning that ‘The War That Changed Rondo’ (art studio Agrafka) was translated in Slovak. Now Rue du Monde, the French publishing house, is preparing the French version of the book
