Brussels to host the first Ukrainian films festival
Jan. 23-24, the first festival of Ukrainian films ‘Ukraine on Film: Way to Freedom’ takes place in Brussels.
The movies will be shown in the Brussels Visual Arts Center Bozar.
The festival program includes the best latest films such as ‘The Tribe’, ‘The Guide’, ‘All Things Ablaze’, ‘Gamer by Oleg Sentsov and popular cartoons about Cossacks by ‘Ukranimatsiafilm’ animation studio.
The keynote of the festival program will be fight for freedom.
As Arthouse Traffic company, the event co-organizer, stated ‘Ukraine on Film’ festival can become an annual event.

Zhan Beleniuk and Oksana Herhel are the best athletes on UWW rating
The United World Wrestling published the ranking of the best world wrestlers.
Oksana Herhel (up to 60kg) and Zhan Beleniuk (up to 85 kg) were named as the best athletes in their weight categories.
The following Ukrainian wrestlers were included into TOP-20 in different weight categories:
– women: Natalia Pulkovska, Lilia Horishna, Tetiana Kit, Larisa Skobliuk, Tetiana Lavrenchuk, Yulia Tkatch, Alina Makhynia, Oksana Vashchuk;
– Freestyle wrestling: Vasyl Shuptar, Ibrahim Aldatov, Pavlo Oliinyk, Valeriy Andriev, Alen Zaseev, Oleksandr Khotsianivskiy;
– Greco-Roman wrestling: Denys Demiankov, Armen Vardanian, Dmytro Pyshkov, Oleksandr Shyshman, Dmytro Tymchenko, Oleksandr Chernetskiy.

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize goes to Ukrainian scientist
Ukrainian scientist Maryna Rodnina secured Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize for the research on Paladeses granule functions. Ukrainian is included into TOP-10 scientists awarded by the German Research Foundation.
Maryna was born in Kyiv, defended a thesis on Molecular Biology and Genetics. Since 1990 she had been working at Witten/Herdecke University where she became a professor of physical biochemistry.
Since 2008 and until now Maryna has been working as a head the Institute of Biophysical Chemistry of Max Planck Society in Gottingen, Germany.
The award ceremony will take place next March in Berlin.

GEOS company to build a house in Roscou Village, Chicago
In 2016 the building company GEOS will start working at a condominium with built-in furniture and statutory household appliances. The building will be located in Roscou Village, the prestigious Chicago neighborhood, that locals value for its infrastructure, security, comfort and good schools.
Chicago has very precise building requirements, and signing the contract with GEOS means that Americans trust the quality of works performed by Ukrainian building companies.
GEOS’s priority is also European market. As a part of European project GEOS starts building several objects in Budapest.

Uzhhorod develops audio guide, city guide and tourist website for its guests
Discover Uzhhorod project has got some success such as trilingual audio guide (Ukrainian, English, Slovak) on 25 city’s tourist locations, trilingual printed city guide and tourist website.
The project is being realized as a part of the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENPI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.
The project involved social activists, photographers, journalists, web-designers and designers.
