Luhansk natives start up with gingerbread business in Kharkiv

For 10 years Kateryna Samarska-Sahaidachenko from Luhansk has been making her living by vocal. In June 2014 she got married and had to live her native city because of war conflict.

Kateryna’s family moved to Kharkiv. She didn’t see any sense in continuing her singing career, so started baking cakes just to keep herself busy.

Kateryna Monzul is the best woman referee in 2015

IFFHS published Best Woman Referee rating for 2015. Kateryna Monzul from Ukraine heads the rating.

The second place belongs to Bibiana Steinhaus from Germany (the winner of the past two years), Esther Staubuli from Switzerland goes the third.

Kateryna Monzul serves important games of the big women football tournaments. She was a referee of the final of the Champions League 2013/14 and the final on the World Cup 2015.

Donbas is integrated into Ukrainian common cultural space

The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has started to realize all-Ukrainian project of cultural integration ‘Ukrainian Donbas’.

The project’s mission is to create conditions for complete integration of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts into Ukraine’s common cultural space.

The initiative implies art, museum, library and other cultural events within 2016 featuring artists from different regions of Ukraine in towns and villages of Donbas.

‘Breakfast at Eugenia’s’, Ukrainian shop in the heart of Rome

The bar and Ukrainian grocery ‘Breakfast at Eugenia’s’ was opened in the center of Rome (via Cesare Baronio, 67).

The shop owners are Tiberiy Chorba (engineer by degree) and Oksana Mudrashynets (goods manager) from Zakarpattia oblast. Oksana has been living in Italy for more than 13 years. Having worked for Italian family for many years she decided to start her own business.

The shop customers are both Ukrainians and Italians.

Ukrainian blacksmiths best at Austrian festival

Serhiy Torulia from Rivne and Yaroslav Pankiv from Ivano-Frankivsk won at International Festival “Ybbsitzer Schmiedeweihnacht” (Ybbsitz, Austria). The festival leading theme was ‘Unity’.

The forged sculpture of Ukrainian team featuring a man and a woman was recognized the best in ‘Sculptural Composition ‘Unity’ nomination.

International Festival “Ybbsitzer Schmiedeweihnacht” is an annual cultural event, known not only in the Lower Austria, but also everywhere around Europe.
