Ukrainians take part in the Frankfurt Parade of Cultures
The Parade of cultures took place in Frankfurt, Germany. The event is to promote the peaceful coexistence of different cultures, respect for each other, and prevent any manifestations of xenophobia and social exclusion.
Ukrainian diaspora also participated in the parade by presenting the culture, national cuisine and crafts.
As part of the parade there was a concert with the participation of dance groups, music bands and singers.

Ihor Hrokhotskyi wins YouthVision song contest in Baku
Ihor Hrokhotskyi, the winner of Ukrainian television show ‘Voice of the country’, won the youth song contest YouthVision held in Baku.
The Ukrainian singer became the best among 19 contestants representing Azerbaijan, England, Belarus, Brazil, Georgia, Moldova, Germany, Russia and Finland.
The second place went to the representative of Belarus, the third one was given to the singer from Georgia.

Documentary gets award at the festival in Bangladesh
Documentary film ‘Bekendor’ (directed by Anastasia Kharchenko) won in the category ‘Film on Nature/Environment/Wildlife’ at International Film Festival “CreActive International Open Film Festival (IOFF)” held in Dakka (Bangladesh).
The film has already won a number of awards and distinctions: The Mayor of the City of Ostrava Award (International Film Festival of Environmental EKOFILM in the Czech Republic), 2nd place in the category ‘Eco-tourism’ (International Festival of tourist films ‘Tourfilm-Riga2014’ in Latvia), special mention Wildlife Vaasa International Nature Film Festival in Finland and The Athens International Digital Film Festival in Greece.

Irina Dekha wins the World Weightlifting Championship among juniors
Irina Dekha, a sportswoman from Kharkiv, won the World Weightlifting Championship among juniors held in Tbilisi. Ukrainian became the strongest in the weight category up to 75 kg.
Due to the result of 254 kg Irina climbed to the highest step of the podium.
The second place was taken by the representative of Mongolia, the third one went to a Chinese sportswoman.

Confectioner from Mukachevo to represent Ukraine at the Erfurt Culinary Olympics
Liudmyla Dubish, a confectioner at Bondarenko confectionery house (Mukachevo, Zakarpattia Oblast), will represent Ukraine at the Culinary Olympics, major culinary competitions to be held on October, 21-26 in Erfurt, Germany.
At the international championship of culinary and confectionery art ‘BestCookFest-2016’ held in Chernivtsi the woman won the jury by pure chocolate installation called ‘Sweet Symphony’.
Liudmyla and 2000 chefs from 40 countries will compete for the awards in various categories.
