‘Winter On Fire’ documentary award is travelling to Kyiv

August,23 Ukrainian House (Kyiv) will host an award ceremony of The Television Academy Honors given for the documentary ‘Winter on fire’ (co-production of Ukraine, US and Great Britain).
The award has been already given to the US team representatives in Los Angeles.
On the eve of Independence Day of Ukraine The Television Academy Honors will be received by Ukrainian filmmakers.

Kyiv invites to flower festival dedicated to outstanding Ukrainians’ achievements

Aug. 19 Spivoche Pole, Kyiv landscape park, invites to a flower festival called ‘The pride of Ukraine’.
The exhibition is dedicated to prominent figures Ukraine who made the world contribution.
The festival will last until September, 18.

Ukraine improves its Global Innovation Index rating

Ukraine ranks the 56th in the most innovative countries ranking (Global Innovation Index). In comparison with 2015 the country has improved its rating by 8 points.
TOP-10 includes Sweden, United Kingdom, Switzerland, United States, Finland, Singapore, Ireland, Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany.
In total the rating includes 128 countries.

Kyiv museum to exhibit Poltava Oblast original towel sketches

From August,20 to September,11 Ivan Honchar Museum in Kyiv is hosting an exposition of 30 Poltava Oblast original towel sketches by Hryhorii Hryn, a famous Ukrainian artist.
The Honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine dedicated his life to the study, preservation and revival of traditional embroidery and carpet weaving of Poltava Oblast. Over the past 15 years the artist has created more than 500 new works.
While drawing the sketches the master relied on the study of archaeological and ethnographic materials. He traveled around the villages of Poltava Oblast where he studied, analyzed and sketched different embroideries.

Ukrainian apples are given the green light for European market

Two Ukrainian apple farms are certified by GlobalG.A.P. Standard (Good Agricultural Practice).
‘Of course, the Certification is not a prerequisite for export to the EU. However, it is impossible to work with European retailers, who control 90% of the apple sale, without the Certificate’, Dmytro Kroshka, head of ‘Ukrsadprom’ association, said.
GLOBALG.A.P. is the internationally recognized standard for farm production. The Certification covers: Food safety and traceability, Environment (including biodiversity), Workers’ health, safety and welfare, Animal welfare, Integrated Crop Management (ICM), Integrated Pest Control (IPC), Quality Management System (QMS), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
