You're reading: Ukraine oil output falls to 3.076 million tons in Jan-Oct

KYIV, Nov 14 – Ukraine produced 3.076 million tons of crude oil and gas condensate in the first 10 months of the year or 2.8 percent less than in the same period a year ago, the State Statistics Committee said on Tuesday.

It said natural gas output was 14.8 billion cubic meters (bcm) or 0.7 percent less than in the same period a year ago.

The committee also said oil and gas condensate output in October totaled 307,000 tons, 2.6 percent more than in September.

Natural gas output in October rose to 1.5 bcm or by 5.6 percent compared to the previous month.

Ukraine produced 3.791 million tons of crude oil last year or 2.7 percent less than in 1998.

Natural gas output was 18 bcm last year or 0.5 percent up compared to the 1998 levels.

Ukraine consumes about 25 million tons of oil and about 70 billion cubic meters of gas annually but produces only 12 percent of the necessary amount of oil and 22 percent of gas.
