Location
The Restaurant is situated in one of Kyiv’s oldest and most famous squares – Lva Tolstoho. It’s in a historic building designed in the 1950s with a great panoramic view though high windows on the central facade.
Concept
Lva Tolstoho Square – a cultural hub, where the evening and weekend fans of Happy Hour gather with friends, or just spend time on their own. We wanted to create the ideal light in our spacious restaurant, when the day is already ending, but the evening has not yet begun. This special natural moment can be seen from the spacious windows of Follower at any time of the year”- says the designer and managing director of the restaurant, Daria.
“The two main goals for the YODEZEEN architectural buro were maximum preservation of the historic character of the building, but at the same time the creation of a more attractive restaurant space,” Daria explains.
The first floor has a cocktail bar with three massive mirrors, four meters high, and an impressive list of designer cocktails. The wooden bar is framed by a stylish facade resembling a bookcase holding more than three hundred ceramic books.
Opposite the bar is an art object: a portrait of the inspired “Follower.” This work is three meters high and consists of 200 handmade books.
The main conceptual theme of Follower restaurant – books, which depict the Follower as a representative of a generation living in two parallel worlds – virtual and real.
Wood is the main material used in the interior. The big common table was created in the middle of the first floor as a communication platform for our guests.
Kitchen and Bar
Our bar boasts a cocktail list developed from combinations of flavors, including those based on fermented vegetables, fruits and alcohol of our own production.
The Follower’s menu offers a combination of American and Italian cuisine. The dishes reflect the passionate love of the Italians for cooking and innovative approach of the Americans.
Here you can enjoy homemade pasta, authentic Tuscan pizza, tasty burgers, and desserts created by our pastry chef Katerina.
Start the day with a cup of coffee and snacks just like in Manhattan? Continue with a rendezvous with friends or a romantic candlelight dinner. The atmosphere for family weekend brunches and nights out with friends is also just right.
