The presentation of the English version of the book by Oleksandr Mymruk ‘Oleg Sentsov’ will be held At 8th of December at 16:00, bookstore-cafe ‘DOVZHENKO books.coffee.cinema’ (1, Vasylkyvska St., 1st floor of Dovzhenko Center). Free entrance.
This book is an attempt to touch a real personality and innocent inner convictions.
Oleg Sentsov is currently a desired interlocutor for journalists, politicians, and conscious citizens of Ukraine. However, this conversation may not take place due to timely political imprisonment.
This book is intended to become an intersection point between him and us. And now, after translating the book in English, the whole world can learn about Oleg Sentsov as a patriot, creator and indestructible figure.
A public discussion is planned within the presentation on the topic ‘Creativity in Prison. Evidence of eyewitnesses’. Artists and thinkers who were arrested in the occupied territories of the Donbas and in Annexed Crimea are invited to it. Also, the cultural managers who implemented the projects in the complicated political conditions will share their experience. And historians of art will tell about the phenomenon of “prisoner creativity” in Ukrainian culture.
Mustafa Dzhemilev, Igor Kozlovsky, Sergiy Zakharov, Volodymyr Fomichev, Alexander Krasovytskyy, Anna Palenchuk are invited to the discussion. There will be the chair for Oleg Sentsov himself.
We propose to participate in discussing important questions.
The book ‘Oleg Sentsov’ by Oleksandr Mymruk is a real biography. It contains excerpts from scenarios of Oleg Sentsov, his prose, a documentary chronicle of the investigation and the trial, during which the history of Oleg’s opposition to the Crimean occupation was falsified.
Ukrainian version was published in 2017. This year, with the support of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, the English version of the book will appear in embassies and bookstores.
