Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv), the country’s largest airport, is preparing a project involving cargo storage and so-called business aviation.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, this was reported by acting head of the airport Pavlo Riabikin at the Ukrainian Infrastructure Forum in Kyiv.

“We will prepare this project in the near future. We plan to implement it with the involvement of an investor,” he said.

Speaking about the long-term development strategy, Riabikin added it would be more convenient for the airport to develop exactly as a hub and, for example, to accept low-cost carriers not in Boryspil but in its branch in Hostomel.

He added it is necessary to invest Hr 6 billion in the airport in the next five years.

Boryspil International Airport provides more than 68 percent of passenger air transportation in Ukraine. It is the only Ukrainian airport in which long-haul flights are served. More than 50 airlines carry out regular flights on more than 100 routes around the world from the airport.
