The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allowed during the established quarantine period (until April 24 of the current year) the sale and rent of vehicles, which was prohibited after quarantine measures were introduced in the country on March 12 in connection with the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.

The government approved the relevant amendments to resolution No. 211 on April 2 by its resolution No. 255.

In addition, the resolution allows the certification and testing of vehicles.

As reported, on March 26 the government also lifted the ban on maintenance and repair of vehicles.

The decision comes into force after publication in the Uriadovy Kurier or Holos Ukrainy newspaper.

“The contact sale of vehicles is again permitted without restrictions! But, of course, subject to all anti-epidemic measures!” Head of Ukrainian Association of Auto Importers and Dealers Oleh Nazarenko said on Facebook.

As reported, after the introduction of quarantine, car dealerships went online with the possibility of ordering and targeted delivery of cars. If in the first week of quarantine, auto sales grew by 74% from pre-quarantine week, then in the second week they decreased by 48% to the first one.
