You're reading: Court closes proceedings on Dubilet’s claim on invalidating PrivatBank nationalization

The Economic Court of Kyiv by a ruling of June 2 closed the proceedings on the claim of ex-shareholder of PrivatBank (Kyiv) Oleksandr Dubilet on invalidating the purchase and sale agreements of the financial institution’s shares, the bank’s press service said on June 2.

The relevant ruling was made on the basis of the provisions of “banking” law No. 590, the court said.

According to the court’s press service, taking into account the position of the Supreme Court, this is the first court ruling of the Economic Court of Kyiv among more than 50 court cases initiated by the former owners of PrivatBank shares regarding the recognition of its nationalization, adopted with the application of law No. 590.

As reported, the Economic Court of Kyiv, by a decision of Jan. 2, 2020, initiated proceedings in case No. 910/18214/19 at the suit of former head of the board and ex-shareholder of PrivatBank Oleksandr Dubilet (previously owned 2.7249% of shares) against the government due to the nationalization of the bank.
