The deficit of Ukraine’s foreign trade in goods in January-September decreased by 59.1% compared to January-September 2019, to $2.944 billion from $7.204 billion, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to its data, export of goods from Ukraine for the reporting period compared to the same period in 2019 decreased by 5.6%, to $35.018 billion, import by 14.3%, to $ 37.962 billion.
The State Statistics Service clarifies that in September compared to August 2020, the seasonally adjusted volume of exports increased by 1.5%, to $4.05 billion, while the volume of imports decreased by 1.5%, to $4.393 billion.
The seasonally adjusted foreign trade balance in September 2020 was also negative and amounted to $343 million, which is better than in the previous month ($466.8 million).
The coverage of imports by exports in January-September this year amounted to 0.92 (in January-September 2019 some 0.84).
The State Statistics Service specified that foreign trade operations were carried out with partners from 230 countries of the world.
