The deficit of Ukraine’s foreign trade in goods in January-June 2021 narrowed by 12.7% compared to January-June 2020, to $1.327 billion from $1.519 billion, the State Statistics Service reported on Aug. 13.

According to its data, the export of goods from Ukraine for the reporting period compared to the same period in 2020 grew by 30.7%, to $29.924 billion, imports rose by 28%, to $31.251 billion.

The State Statistics Service said that in June compared to May 2021, the seasonally adjusted volume of exports grew by 2.1%, to $5.669 billion, imports was 2.7% more than in May 2021, reaching $5.72 billion.

The seasonally adjusted foreign trade balance in June 2021 posted the deficit and amounted to $0.052 billion, which is worse than the previous month ($0.022 billion).

The export coverage ratio of imports in the first half of this year amounted to 0.96 (in the first half of 2020 it was 0.94).

The State Statistics Service said that foreign trade operations were carried out with partners from 227 countries.
