The Individuals’ Deposit Guarantee Fund has completed the liquidation of Ukrgazprombank (Kyiv), the fund’s website reported.

According to the fund, in accordance with Article 53 of the law on the system of guaranteeing deposits of individuals, on December 26, 2019 the regulator made an entry in the unified state register of legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and public organizations on the termination of state registration of PJSC Ukrgazprombank as a legal entity.

The powers of the guarantee fund as the liquidator of Ukrgazprombank have been terminated, the regulator said.

According to the fund, the depositors of Ukrgazprombank received Hr 219.5 million, which is 98% of the total sum.

As reported, in April 2015 Ukrgazprombank was declared insolvent due to risky activities, and in August 2015 the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) agreed on the acquisition by PrimestarEnergy FZE (the UAE) of a 100% stake in the financial institution.

In September 2015, at the suggestion of the fund, the National Bank decided to revoke the banking license and liquidate Ukrgazprombank due to the under-capitalization of the financial institution by the new shareholder on time.
