The forecast hryvnia exchange rate for late 2018 is Hr 30.10/$1 in the government’s bill on the national budget of Ukraine for 2018, according to an explanatory note to the bill.
According to the document, taking into account this exchange rate, direct state debt as of early 2019 would be Hr 1.999 trillion or 61.5 percent of GDP, guaranteed state debt would be Hr 747.55 million and total state debt would reach 84.6 percent of GDP.
Earlier Finance Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk said that the draft 2018 national budget is based on the forecast of average exchange rate of Hr 29.30/$1.
As reported, the 2017 national budget was built, taking into account average annual hryvnia exchange rate of Hr 27.20/$1 and Hr 27.80/$1 for late 2017. At present, the hryvnia exchange rate is Hr 26.2244/$1 compared to Hr 27.1909/$1 as of early 2017.
