Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv has discussed cooperation in current energy, transport and other projects with representatives of the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Kubiv wrote on his Facebook page that the sides also discussed some promising projects for the near future, including the extension of the third subway line in Kharkiv, financing of projects in higher education, construction of Kaniv hydroelectric power plant and modernization of infrastructure of Ukrainian railways.

Kubiv also recalled that now the EIB is financing construction of several overhead power transmission lines in Kyiv and Zaporizhia regions, some projects in the hydroelectric sphere. As for the transport sphere, the bank finances repair of roads near Kyiv, subway in Dnipro, the Beskydsky railway tunnel project and construction of municipal infrastructure. In addition, the EIB supports projects to purchase municipal transport for Ukrainian cities, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) lending programs and agricultural projects.
