There is no reason for a shortage of bread and bakery products in Ukraine, the situation with the export of food wheat is under control, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ihor Petrashko has said.

“There will be no shortage of wheat related products, there is no reason for this,” he said at a cabinet briefing.

According to the minister, the country also does not carry out an “enhanced” export of food wheat.

In addition, he said the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture had signed a memorandum with the largest grain traders, which secures minimum balances. According to the ministry, in July (the low season before the start of the new export MY) grain stocks will be twice as much as last year.

“We monitor the situation of export/import for all products. We introduce point solutions where we see that the situation requires a response, for example, buckwheat and products, where we are partially dependent on imports. We work with those countries from which we import agricultural products,” Petrashko said.
