You're reading: Exports of poultry from Ukraine fall by 4%, eggs by 13.1%

Exports of poultry meat from Ukraine in 2020 in quantity terms increased by 4%, to 431,000 tonnes, while in monetary terms it decreased by 4.1%, to $555 million, the State Customs Service said.

According to it, imports of poultry meat last year amounted to 108,000 tonnes worth $45.5 million, decreasing by 18% and 13.4%, respectively.

Egg exports from Ukraine in 2020 decreased by 22.1%, from 137,000 tonnes to 107,000 tonnes, in monetary terms by 13.1%, from $112 million to $97 million.

In addition, 7,430 tonnes of egg products were exported in the amount of $18.3 million, which is 5.3% and 13.7%, respectively, higher than the indicators of 2019.

At the same time, egg imports in the last year fell by almost half, from 5,200 tonnes for $20 million to 2,800 tonnes for $10.3 million.

Imports of live poultry to Ukraine amounted to 4,100 tonnes in the amount of $63.1 million with exports close to zero, which, respectively, are 4.2% and 8.7% higher than in 2019.
