Natural gas supplies to Ukraine from the EU in January-October decreased by 83.3% (by 12.66 billion cubic meters) compared to the same period in 2020 – to 2.536 billion cubic meters, the press service of Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) reports.

According to its data, in January they amounted to 439 million cubic meters, in February – 29 million cubic meters, in March – 8 million cubic meters, in April – 77 million cubic meters, in May – 8 million cubic meters, in June – 90 million cubic meters, in July – 498 million cubic meters, in August – 567 million cubic meters, in September – 665 million cubic meters, in October – 155 million cubic meters.

Export and re-export of gas from Ukraine for the ten months of 2021 amounted to 1.629 billion cubic meters, in October it amounted to 479 million cubic meters (in the direction of Hungary – 223 million cubic meters, Slovakia – 192 million cubic meters, Poland – 53 million cubic meters, Moldova – 11 million cubic meters).

“It should be noted that in September-October, gas taking from the customs warehouse exceeds last year’s indicators, especially in the Hungarian direction. Since September, we have been observing how, against the background of the gas crisis in Europe, traders are increasing the re-export of gas from Ukraine, which was pumped into storage in 2020. This confirms convenience and market perspective of gas storage of counterparties in Ukrainian UGS facilities, as well as short-haul product,” GTSOU Director General Serhiy Makogon said.
