You're reading: Government to pay farmers Hr 4,700/ha for lost crops

The Cabinet of Ministers will set a payment to agricultural producers of Hr 4,700 per hectare of crops lost as a result of unfavorable weather conditions, and one farm can receive compensation from the total area not exceeding 50 hectares of dead crops, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Aug. 11.

“Another issue in the agricultural sector is the support of agricultural producers. Today we approve the order of funds that will be paid to those farmers who, for example, lost their crops due to the drought. For one hectare of completely lost crops we will pay Hr 4,700 at the same time, compensation can be obtained for no more than 50 hectares from one farm.

In addition, the Prime Minister called on Minister of Agrarian Policy Roman Leschenko to discuss with the public the state of irrigation projects in the southern regions of Ukraine, as well as to clarify the data on pilot projects in the field of irrigation.
