The state-owned PrivatBank (Kyiv) appealed to the National Police of Ukraine with a request to investigate the facts of threats of personal violence received by its top manager and bring their actor to justice, the financial institution’s press service said on Nov. 4.

“There are reasons and facts to believe that the threats are related to the bank’s top manager direct performance of his duties. In particular, this concerns the implementation of the bank’s strategy to resolve problem of debts on loans issued to individuals and legal entities,” the press service said.

According to the National Bank of Ukraine, PrivatBank, as of Sept. 1, 2020, was ranked first among 75 banks operating in the country in terms of total assets (Hr 591.9 billion).
