Ihor Surkis and his brother Hryhoriy Surkis, as well as other persons affiliated with PrivatBank have filed 42 lawsuits against the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), according to the State Register of Court Decisions.

Other complainants, in particular, are Rahmil Surkis (the father of Ihor and Hryhoriy), Svetlana Surkis (daughter of Hryhoriy Surkis), Marina Surkis (daughter of Ihor Surkis), Polyna Kovalyk (one of the shareholders in A-Bank), A-Bank, FC Dynamo (Ihor Surkis is the president of the football club), as well as offshore companies related to Surkis – Camerin Investments LLP, Sunnex Investments LLP, Tamplemon Investments LLP, Berlini Commercial LLP, Lumil Investments LLP, Sofinam Investments LLP.

Almost all the claims were launched with the administrative court and concern appeals against the recognition by the National Bank of the said persons as those that are affiliated with PrivatBank, as a result of which their assets in the bank had been subject to the compulsory exchange for shares of additional issue (bail-in) during PrivatBank’s nationalization.

According to the register, Kyiv’s Court of Appeals on Sept. 6 and Sept. 18 will consider the appeals against May 17 rulings by Kyiv’s District Administrative Court, which satisfied the claims of A-Bank and six specified individuals.

However, there is no fixed date for a meeting of the Higher Administrative Court, which is to consider appeals against a July 27 ruling by Kyiv’s Court of Appeals and a March 20 ruling by Kyiv’s District Administrative Court, which partially satisfied the claims of FC Dynamo.
