You're reading: Tesla Supercharger stations to appear in Ukraine in 2019

The demand for electric vehicles and their charging stations is growing rapidly all over the world, including Ukraine.

The country now can expect Tesla Superchargers, fast-charging stations for electric cars, created by the U.S. automotive and energy company Tesla Inc., to be appeared in Ukraine in 2019, as Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Inc., wrote on his Twitter on Dec. 26.

“Most people don’t know that the Tesla Supercharger network allows easy long-distance travel throughout USA, most of Europe, Canada and China,” Musk wrote on Twitter.
“Yes. Supercharger coverage will extend to 100% of Europe next year. From Ireland to Kyiv, from Norway to Turkey,” Musk wrote on his Twitter.

Although Musk has not yet announced the exact date of Tesla Superchargers to appear in Ukraine, the locations have already appeared on a map, at Tesla`s official website.

Ukraine expects Tesla Supercharger stations to be installed in two country`s regions: one in Zhytomyr Oblast, a city some 130 kilometers west from Kyiv, and the second one is expected to appear in Oparysy village, located in Rivne Oblast, a city some 320 kilometers west from Kyiv.

Apart from that, both Tesla Supercharger stations would be installed on E40 highway, the longest European route of over 8,000 kilometers that connects 10 countries, including France, Belgium, Germany, Poland and Ukraine.

Tesla Supercharger locations can be seen here, where red marks indicate already existing Supercharger stations, and grey marks are used for the ones to appear soon.

Currently, Tesla Supercharger stations are presented at 1,375 locations all over the world.

Prior to that, Ukrainian automobile and motor vehicle association Ukrautoprom has reported that during January – November 2018, the amount of electric cars in Ukraine doubled, in comparison to the same period in 2017.

Additionally, the association reported that 34 electric cars Tesla Model S have passed primary registration in Ukraine, in November 2018.
