On Sunday, October 13, Constantinos Spanoudis, General Manager of CocaCola HBC UkraineArmenia and Moldova, was awarded the status of “Honorable Citizen of the Brovary Region” by the Brovary Region Council. Mr. Spanoudis is the first foreign resident to be honored with such an award. This title is in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the economic, social, cultural development of the local community, as well as of his long-standing social activity.

Since March 1, 2012 Mr. Spanoudis has held the position of General Manager at CocaCola HBC UkraineArmenia and Moldova, which is one of the largest taxpayers to the regional budget and the biggest employer for the local community providing jobs for 1,500 Ukrainians. Moreover, according to recent a socio-economic impact study report, led by GFK Ukraine – 1 workplace at Coca-Cola supports 19 workplaces in related industries, including a wide range of suppliers and a network of retailers across the country. Under Mr.Spanoudis’s leadership, the company has been awarded several times the most prestigious award among producers in the Ukrainian beer-and-soft drinks industry – the “Amber Star.” In addition, the company continually invests in the well-being of the local community. The flagman community project #YouthEmpowered helps provide underprivileged youth with access to higher education. Since its pilot run at the Emerald City orphanage, #YouthEmpowered has grown into a highly regarded national educational program and is currently operating in 19 boarding schools from 10 regions of Ukraine for a grand total of 1,500 graduates.

Upon receiving the award, Mr. Spanoudis commented: “We strongly believe that our contribution to the economic and social development of the region will only grow in coming years. We will continue to support youth in need and expand our waste management activities. Further, we remain sincerely committed to making our brighter future together!”
