You're reading: Ukraine central bank buys $20 million on interbank market this week

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in the period from July 5 to July 9, within the framework of interventions with the choice of the best price, bought $20 million on the interbank foreign exchange market.

According to the NBU, in general, from the beginning of 2021, it bought $993.3 million in reserves, sold $169.5 million.

It is specified that in January the central bank spent $20 million to support the hryvnia, some $200 million in February, some $50.5 million in March, after which it sold $50 million in April. In May, the NBU did not enter the market with interventions, and in June acquired $583.3 million.
