In the baseline scenario, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) expects an outbreak of diseases in the autumn, but does not predict the introduction of strict quarantine measures and significant losses for the economy, Deputy Governor of the NBU Serhiy Nikolaichuk has said.

“In the baseline scenario, we expect an outbreak in the autumn. This will delay the recovery of economic activity to the level it was before the pandemic. At the same time, we do not expect the introduction of strict quarantine measures and significant losses for the economy,” he said in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of Forbes.

The deputy governor added that the quarantines in January and March-April of this year showed that business and the population have adapted to the new conditions and tuned up their economic activity.
