You're reading: Ukraine central bank predicts growth of monetary base by 27.6%

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has revised its forecast for the growth of the monetary base for 2020 from 20.7% (in the July forecast) by 27.6%, the money supply – from 19.5% to 25.4%, according to the inflation report of the central bank posted on its website on Oct. 29 night.

According to NBU estimates, the monetary base in 2021 will grow by 5.4%, in 2022 – by 5.2%, while in July the central bank predicted an increase in the indicator in 2021 and 2022 by 3.5%.

According to the report, it is expected that in 2021 the money supply will grow by 11.7% (by 10.7% in the July forecast), and in 2022 – by 11.8% (10.6%).

The regulator estimated the growth of the monetary base in the third quarter of 2020 at 18.9%, money supply – at 19.7%.
