Exports of Ukrainian agrarian and food products in January-October amounted to $14.7 billion and increased by 22.7 percent compared to the same period in 2016.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, imports of agricultural products for the ten months of 2017 grew by 8 percent, to $3.6 billion.
“The three leaders among the importers of our agricultural products in January-October were India (11.3 percent of total exports), Egypt (7.5 percent) and the Netherlands (6.9 percent). However, the global regional structure of agricultural exports has not changed: exports to Asia exceeded 42 percent, to EU countries stood at 31.9 percent, to the countries of Africa at 14.7 percent,” Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food for European Integration Olha Trofimtseva said.
According to her, Ukraine in January-October significantly increased exports of apricots, cherries, peaches, plums, wheat flour, sugar, poultry, butter, confectionery, and cereals.
The ministry keeps the forecast for the growth of exports of Ukrainian agricultural products in 2017 at a level of 15-20 percent compared to the previous year.
