Ukrainian enterprises produced 5,696 vehicles in January-September, which is 2.1 times more than a year ago, including a rise of 86.1 percent in production of passenger cars, to 4,814, the Ukrautoprom association has reported.
According to its tentative data, which have not contained indicators of AutoKrAZ since August 2016, bus production grew 2.8-fold, to 536.
Eurocar remained the leader with 4,164 passenger cars (61.2 percent more than in January-September).
ZAZ with 1,012 vehicles made over the period is second (649 passenger cars, 344 trucks and 19 buses), while in January-September 2016 the plant made only 4 vehicles.
Cherkasy Bus boosted production more than 2.2-fold, to 255 buses. Chasiv Yar Bus Plant made 68 buses over the period (11 a year ago), Chernihiv Plant of Etalon Corporation made 112 buses (3 a year ago), and Bogdan Corporation manufactured 83 buses (15).
The Ukrautoprom said that in September along 822 vehicles were made at Ukrainian plants, which is twice more than in September 2016 and 10.8 percent more than in August 2017.
Eurocar made 515 cars, a 37.3 percent rise year-over-year and 9 percent down on August 2017.
ZAZ made 174 passenger cars, 59 commercial vehicles and three buses compared to 76, 32 and 2 in August 2017. In September 2016, the plant was idle.
Cherkasy Bus made 36 buses in September (35 in August), Chernihiv plant – 16 (5), Chasiv Yar Bus Plant – 9 (10) and Bogdan Corporation – 10 (16).
