You're reading: Ukraine settles export of honey with Qatar

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection have settled the form of a certificate for exporting honey and beekeeping products to Qatar, the authority said in a press release on Aug. 18.

“Ukrainian honey is known all over the world. We rank second in the world as exporters of this tasty and healthy product. At the same time, our producers are improving their positions. To make them even more competitive and stronger, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the State Food Service, continues to open new markets,” Head of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Vladyslava Mahaletska said.

The export certificate form is posted on the authority’s website.

As reported, since the beginning of 2021, Ukrainian producers were authorized to export agricultural products to 11 countries, while in 2020 Ukraine opened 12 export markets. In 2021, the markets of Lebanon, Japan, Argentina, Libya and Kuwait were opened for Ukrainian producers of milk and dairy products, the markets of Serbia for processed animal protein, and Ethiopia for table eggs. Lithuania opened its market for the export of arachnids for plant protection, a health certificate for the import of live snails for breeding was agreed with Slovakia, and certificates for the export of small ruminants with Jordan and Kuwait.
