Ukraine as of March 13, 2019, sowed early spring grain and leguminous crops on 258,000 ha out of 2.3 million ha planned for sowing.

According to a posting on the website of the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry, as of March 13, 2019 farmers in 14 regions started sowing early spring crops.

Farmers of other regions are waiting for good weather.

According to data from the regions, farmers have 684,000 tonnes of seeds or 100 percent of their need. They have 856,000 tonnes of mineral fertilizers (82 percent of their need). Farmers bought 20,400 tonnes of crop protection agents (67 percent of their need). They have 268,000 tonnes of diesel fuel and 61,000 tonnes of gasoline in stock, or 65 percent and 64 percent of their need.

Fertilizers were input on around 5.4 million ha or 72 percent of the plan.

The projected area for all spring grain and leguminous crops for 2019 is 7.2 million ha.
