Sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine grew by 24.5 percent in 2017, to 80,271, and in December a new post-crisis record was broken – 8,820 sold cars, AUTO-Consulting has reported.

“December was a good month for car dealers compared with the two previous months of stagnation. Devaluation of the hryvnia at the end of the year pushed buyers to car showrooms. Thus, first in the past three years dealers of one brand even managed to sell over 1,000 cars, which was not seen in Ukraine for many years,” the experts said.

Renault was the leader of the market in December with 1,121 cars sold (12.71 percent  of the market). Its sales grew by 50.2 percent on November 2017.

Toyota is second with 967 cars sold (18.5 percent up on November).

The experts said that Toyota is the leader of 2017.

Volkswagen was third in December (762 cars sold, a 46 percent rise on November), and Skoda was fourth (657 cars, 8.4% up). Hyundai boosted sales by 18 percent and sold 485 cars, being fifth.

Ravon made in Uzbekistan was among top ten cars sold in Ukraine (286 cars), being 12th in November.
