Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant (ZAZ), part of UkrAVTO Corporation, which officially announced the start of production of Groupe Renault passenger cars for the local market in September of this year, produced 248 cars over the past month (none in September 2019), Ukrautoprom reports.
The models of cars produced at the factory are not shown in the statistics.
As reported, Renault Ukraine announced the assembly of Renault Arkana coupe-crossovers at ZAZ from vehicle sets supplied from Russia, but the media also know about the assembly of several Lada models (UkrAVTO Corporation has not officially confirmed this yet).
According to the association, taking into account 536 Skoda cars produced in September at Eurocar plant (44% less than in September 2019), the September total of the passenger division of the Ukrainian car industry amounted to 784 cars, which is 18.3% less than in the past year.
Taking into account the produced commercial vehicles and buses, a total of 861 vehicles were produced at Ukrainian factories last month – the best result since the beginning of the year, but it is 18% less than in September 2019.
At the same time, only four commercial vehicles were produced (against one), all by Cherkasy Bus, and production of buses decreased by 21%, to 73 units, including 32 units at Cherkasy Bus.
The association informs that only 3,104 units were produced in Ukraine in January-September, which is 41% less than in the nine months of last year, including 2,605 passenger cars (43% less), 32 commercial cars (61% less), and 467 buses (25% less).
