You're reading: French ambassador visits Russian Foreign Ministry to discuss contacts in Normandy Format

Russian State Secretary and Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met with French Ambassador to Russia Jean-Maurice Ripert to discuss the Ukrainian crisis and the situation in the post-Soviet world on March 17.

“The main subject of the discussion was the exacerbation of the crisis in Ukraine, the latest contacts in the Normandy Format and the outlook for the Minsk Agreements’ implementation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.

Subjects discussed at the meeting also included the evolution of the situation in the post-Soviet world, including Moldova and Georgia, the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, and integration processes within the Eurasian Economic Union, the ministry said.
