The most hotly anticipated and controversial Russian ballet in years has been premiered as Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre finally staged Nureyev, which tells the life story of the dancer.

The Bolshoi will premiere the ballet about Russian dance legend Rudolf Nureyev, staged by theatre and film director Kirill Serebrennikov who is currently under house arrest over fraud charges, on Dec. 9.
