SOCHI – The phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump was positive and businesslike, and the leaders spoke in favor of a bilateral meeting, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said.

“It was a very positive and businesslike conversation,” Ushakov told reporters in commenting on the Putin-Trump phone call held on May 2.

As to the possibility of a meeting between Putin and Trump on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg, Ushakov said, “Both presidents spoke in favor of a bilateral meeting, they said it was about time to meet. Hamburg was mentioned as an occasion for a meeting between the presidents.”
